Welcome to the
Child Development faculty pages of Bridgewater High School
Child Development at GCSE is about how children develop from the moment
of conception until the age of five.
Over two years you will study The Family and it's importance in a
child's development, puberty, conception and pregnancy, development
from birth to five focusing on Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and
Social development.
The assessment is 50% coursework and 50% examination.
The coursework involves the study of a child over a period of
about 8 months looking at the developmental changes which take place
aswell as researching and investigating a topic which is relevent to
the age of the child.
