Overview As with any area of interest for young or vunerable people, safety has to be considered paramount. E-safety is a complex area as technology provides as many problems as there are solutions. To ensure child protection, good practise is as important as ANY computer aided application. At Bridgewater, good pracise in conjunction with software purchases and LEA policies, we try to ensure that pupils are as safe as possible. We have an Acceptable User Policy (AUP) which every user (Including teachers) accept every time they log on. We have also purchased powerful auditing software which constantly monitors all activity. Social networking, Auction, Chat, Gambling and Instant messaging (among others) sites are banned wherever possible. The two presentations (from the links below) are aimed at different audiences. The first is shown to Year 7 pupils and informs them of how to minimse risks from most issues. The second presentation is for parents to help them manage issues within the domestic setting.
