1.                  Beschreib mir deine Stadt und deine Region. – Describe your town and your region.

Ich wohne in einer Stadt, die Warrington heißt. – I live in a town which is called Warrington.  Ich wohne in Warrington, die zwischen Manchester und Liverpool liegt.- I live in Warrington which is between Manchester and Liverpool.  Ich wohne in Warrington, die eine mittelgroße Stadt ist.  – I live in Warrington which is a middle-sized town.  Ich wohne in Warrington, die eine Industriestadt ist. – I live in Warrington which is an industrial town.  Ich wohne in einem kleinen Dorf in der Nähe von Warrington. – I live in a small village near to Warrington.  Meine Stadt liegt in Nordwestengland und sie ist ziemlich groß.  Sie hat ungefähr zwei hundert tausend Einwohner.  – My town is situated in North West England and it is quite big.  It has about 200 thousand inhabitants.  Meiner Meinung nach, ist Warrington super, weil viel los ist. – In my opinion Warrington is super because there is lots going on.  Warrington gefällt mir sehr, weil es gute Verkehrsverbindungen gibt. – I really like Warrington because there are good public transport links.  Ich finde Warrington toll, weil es viele Cafés, Geschäfte und Kinos gibt. – I find Warrington great because there are lots of cafés, shops and cinemas.  Meiner Meinung nach, ist Warrington schlimm, weil nichts los ist. – In my opinion Warrington is bad because there is nothing going on.  Ich denke, es gibt nicht so viel für die junge Leute in Warrington, weil nichts los ist. – I think there is not so much for young people in Warrington because there is nothing going on.  Ich finde, dass Warrington sehr schlimm ist, weil die Luft total verschmutzt ist. – I find that Warrington is very bad because the air is totally polluted.  Warrington gefällt mir nicht, weil es keine gute Sportmöglichkeiten gibt. – I don’t like Warrington because there are no good sports possibilities.  Wenn man gut einkaufen gehen möchte, muss man nach Manchester oder Liverpool fahren, weil es viele bessere Geschäfte gibt. – If one wants to do good shopping, one must travel to Liverpool or Manchester where there are better shops.  Letztes Jahr hat die Stadtverwaltung von Warrington ein neues Einkaufzentrum gebaut.  Das finde ich total super, weil die neue Geschäfte sehr modern und schön sind. – Last year Warrington council built a new shopping centre.  I find that totally super because the new shops are very modern and beautiful.  Früher gab es keine gute Geschäfte, weil sie altmodisch und sehr klein waren. – Earlier there were no good shops because they were old-fashioned and very small.  Nächstes Jahr wird es ein neues Kino/Theater/Museum geben.  Das wäre sehr wichtig für die Tourismus in der Stadt sein. – Next year there will be a new cinema/theatre/museum.  That will be very important for the tourism in the town.  In Warrington gibt es eine Rugbystadion, wo man samstags die Rugbyspiele sehen kann. – In Warrington there is a rugby stadium where one can see the Rugby games on Saturdays.  In Warrington ist die Rugbymannschaft sehr wichtig und populär, weil sie sehr erfolgreich sind. – In Warrington the rugby team is very important and popular because they are very successful.  In Warrington gibt es Cafés, wo man Kaffee trinken kann. – In Warrington there are cafés where one can drink coffee.  In Warrington gibt es ein Kino, wo man gute Filme sehen kann. – In Warrington there is a cinema where one can see good films.  In Warrington gibt es auch einen schönen Park, wo man Fussball spielen kann. – In Warrington there is also a beautiful park where one can play football.  Ich wohne in Warrington seit immer/seit 3 Jahren. – I have lived in Warrington always/for 3 years.

2.                  Gibt es Umweltprobleme in Warrington? – Are there environmental problems in Warrington?

Ja, in Warrington gibt es zu viele Autos.  Die Abgase von den Auspuffe verursacht die Luftverschmutzung und das finde ich schrecklich, weil es sehr umweltfeindlich ist. – Yes in Warrington there are too many cars.  The exhaust fumes cause air pollution and I find that terrible because it is bad for the environment.  Ja, in Warrington gibt es zu viel Verkehr und das finde ich schrecklich, weil die Autos zu laut sind. – Yes, in Warrington there is too much traffic and I find that terrible because the cars are too loud.  In Warrington gibt es zu viele Fabriken und sie verursachen viele Luftverschmutzung. – In Warrington there are too many factories and they cause lots of air pollution.  Das finde ich sehr gefährlich für die Umwelt, weil man keine frische Luft geniessen kann. – I find that very dangerous for the environment because one cannot enjoy the fresh air.  Ich finde, dass es zu viel Abfall in den Strassen gibt. – I find that there is too much rubbish in the streets.  Meiner Meinung nach, muss man mehr recyceln, um dieses Abfallproblem zu lösen. – In my opinion one must recycle more in order to solve this problem of rubbish.  Letztes Jahr gab es zu viele Autos in Warrington, aber dieses Jahr wird es eine neue Fussgängerzone geben, also wird es auch weniger Autos geben. – Last year there were too many cars in Warrington but this year there will be a new pedestrian zone, therefore there will also be less cars.  Nein, meiner Meinung nach, ist Warrington sehr umweltfreundlich, weil es viele Fussgängerzone gibt. – No, in my opinion Warrington is very environmentally friendly because there are lots of pedestrian zones.  Warrington hat weniger Umweltsprobleme als andere Städte, weil es besseres Recycling hat. – Warrington has less environmental problems than other towns because it has better recycling.

3.                  Wo würdest du am liebsten wohnen und warum? – Where would you most like to live and why?

Ich würde am liebsten in Australien/Spanien/Schottland wohnen, weil ich Verwandte dort habe. – I would most like to live in Australia/Spain/Scotland because I have relatives there.  Ich würde am liebsten in Frankreich wohnen, weil die Kultur/die Geschichte/der Lebensstil sehr interessant/wichtig ist. – I would most like to live in France because the culture/the history/the lifestyle is very interesting/important.  Ich würde am liebsten in Italien wohnen, weil ich die Landschaft geniessen könnte. – I would most like to live in Italy because I could enjoy the countryside.  Ich würde am liebsten in Deutschland wohnen, um die Sprache besser zu lernen. – I would most like to live in Germany in order to learn the language better.  Ich denke, es ist sehr wichtig, in einem anderen Land zu wohnen, weil man die Welt und andere Kulturen besser verstehen kann. – I think it is very important to live in a different country because one can better understand the world and other cultures.  In der Zukunft möchte ich ein Jahr in Deutschland verbringen, um Deutsch zu lernen.  Ich möchte einen Job finden. – In the future I would like to spend a year in Germany in order to learn German.  I would like to find a job.  Ich würde am liebsten in Spanien wohnen, weil es wärmer als England ist. – I would most like to live in Spain because it is warmer than England.

4.                  Welche Vor- und Nachteile gibt es, wenn man in einer Stadt wohnt?/Welche Vor- und Nachteile gibt es, wenn man auf dem Land wohnt? – What advantages and disadvantages are there if one lives in a town?  What advantages and disadvantages are there if one lives in the countryside?

Ich denke, wenn man jung ist, ist es besser in einer Stadt zu wohnen, weil mehr los ist. - I think if one is young it is better to live in a town because there is more going on.  Es gibt viele Vorteile, wenn man in einer Stadt wohnt.  Zum Beispiel, hat man viele Freizeitmöglichkeiten. – There are lots of advantages if one lives in a town.  For example one has lots of freetime possibilities.  Man kann ins Kino gehen, oder einkaufen gehen. – One can go to the cinema or go shopping.  Meiner Meinung nach, ist der Hauptvorteil die Freizeitmöglichkeiten.  In meiner Stadt kann man in die Sporthalle gehen, wo man trainieren kann.  Es gibt auch ein tolles Hallenbad, wo man täglich schwimmen kann.  Es gibt viel für die junge Leute, beispielsweise, gibt es ein Kino und auch einen großen Jugendklub. – In my opinion the main advantage is the freetime possibilities.  In my town one can go to the gym where one can train.  There is also a great indoor swimming pool where one can go swimming daily.  There is also lots for young people, for example, there is a cinema and also a big youth club.  Auf der anderen Seite gibt es auch große Nachteile.  Zum Beispiel ist es lauter und normalerweise auch schmutziger in einer Stadt.  Das heißt, es gibt viele Luftverschmutzung und auch zu viele Autos.  Wenn es zu viele Autos gäbe, ist es gefährlicher, lauter und schmutziger. – On the other hand there are also big disadvantages.  For example it is louder and normally also dirtier in a town.  That means there is lots of air pollution and also too many cars.  If there are too many cars it is more dangerous, louder and dirtier.  Normalerweise gibt es mehr Probleme mit dem Verbrechen in einer Stadt, weil es mehr Leute gibt. – Normally there are more problems with crime in a town, because there are more people.  Es gibt viele Vorteile, wenn man auf dem Land wohnt.  Zum Beispiel, ist die Luft sauberer und die Landschaft ist schöner als in einer Stadt.  – There are lots of advantages if one lives in the countryside.  For example the air is cleanrer and the countryside is more beautiful than in a town.  Normalerweise, finde ich, dass nichts für junge Leute los ist. – Normally I find that there is nothing going on for young people.  Auf dem Land kann man wandern gehen oder Wassersport treiben.  Es gibt normalerweise viele gute Sportmöglichkeiten auf dem Land.  Das finde ich der Hauptvorteil. – In the countryside one can go hiking or do watersports.  There are normally lots of good sports opportunities in the countryside.  I find that is the main advantage.  Auf der anderen Seite ist es langweiliger als die Stadt.  – On the other hand it is more boring than a town.  Ich würde lieber in einer Stadt wohnen, weil es lebendiger ist. – I would rather live in a town because it is livelier.  In der Zukunft würde ich auf dem Land wohnen, weil es ruhiger und schöner ist. – In the future I would live in the countryside because it is more quiet and more beautiful.

5.                  Wo hast du deine Sommerferien letztes Jahr verbracht? – Where did you spend your summer holidays last year.

In den letzten Sommerferien bin ich mit meiner Familie/mit meinen Freunden nach Spanien gefahren. – Last summer I went with my family/with my friends to Spain.  Ich bin mit dem Flugzeug/mit dem Schiff/mit dem Auto/mit dem Rad gefahren. – I went by plane/by boat/by car/by bike.  Die Reise hat 4 Stunden gedauert.  Während der Reise habe ich ein Buch, das „........“ hieß, gelesen.  – During the journey I read a book which was called......  Die Reise hat mir nicht so gut gefallen, weil wir eine Verspätung hatten. – The journey was not so good because we had a delay.  Die Reise war schrecklich, weil ich reisekrank war.  – The journey was terrible because I was travel sick.  Wir haben in einem schönem Hotel gewohnt.  Es gab ein großes Schwimmbad, wo ich jeden Tag schwimmen gegangen bin. – We stayed in a beautiful hotel.  There was a big swimming pool where I went swimming every day.  Wir sind für zwei Wochen geblieben. – We went for 2 weeks.  Wir haben die Sehenswürdigkeiten gesehen. – We saw the sights.  Jeden Tag habe ich Fussball mit meinem Bruder gespielt.  Es war super, weil wir am Strand gespielt haben.  – Every day I played football with my brother.  It was super because we played on the beach.  Das Wetter war ein bisschen zu heiß. -  The weather was a little bit too hot.  Das Wetter war sehr schön. – The weather was very beautiful.  Ich möchte wieder nach Spanien fahren, weil das Wetter so warm war. – I would like to go again to Spain because the weather was so warm.  Nächstes Jahr werde ich wieder nach Spanien fahren, weil es so viel Spass gemacht hat. – Next year I will go again to Spain because it was so much fun.  Jeden Abend haben wir im Restaurant gegessen, weil es so billig war.  Normalerweise haben wir Pizza gegessen, weil es total lecker war. – Every evening we ate in a restaurant because it was so cheap.  Normally we ate pizza because it was totally tasty.

6.                  Hast du schon Pläne für die nächsten Ferien? – Do you have plans for the next holidays?

Ja, ich werde nach Italien fahren, weil ich das Essen mag. – Yes i am going to Italy because I like the food.  Die Kultur gefällt mir sehr und ich werde viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sehen. – I like the culture and I will see lots of sights.  Ich werde einkaufen gehen, obwohl es sehr teuer ist. – I will go shopping although it is very expensive.  In den Sommerferien werde ich einen Job finden, um ein bisschen Geld zu verdienen.  Im September werde ich in die Oberstufe gehen, und ich denke, ich werde viel Geld brauchen. – In the summer holidays I will find a job in order to earn a bit of money.  In September I will go to the sixth form and I think I will need lots of money. 

7.                  Was sind die Vor- und Nachteile, wenn man in einem Hotel oder in einem Zelt übernachtet? – What are the advantages and disadvantages if one stays in a hotel or in a tent?

Meiner Meinung nach, gibt es viele Vorteile, wenn man in einem Hotel übernachtet. – In my opinion there are many advantages if one stays in a hotel.  Ich denke, der Hauptvorteil ist die Bequemlichkeit. – I think the main advantage is comfort.  Ich denke, es ist besser in einem Hotel zu übernachten, weil es bequemer und angenehmer ist.  Man hat auch normalerweise viele Sportmöglichkeiten in einem Hotel. – I think it is better to stay in a hotel because it is more comfortable and more pleasant.  One normally has lots of sports possibilities in a hotel.  Normalerweise gibt es ein Restaurant, wo man gut essen kann.  Das finde ich bequemer als in einem Zelt zu übernachten. – Normally there is a restaurant where one can eat well.  I find that more convenient that to overnight in a tent.  Auf der anderen Seite kann ein Hotel sehr laut und beschäftigt sein, und vielleicht ist das ein Nachteil, wenn man sich entspannen will.  – On the other hand a hotel can be very loud and busy and perhaps that is a disadvantage if one wants to relax.  Es ist sicherer in einem Hotel zu übernachten. – It is safer to stay in a hotel.

8.                  Bist du schon mit der Schule weggefahren?  - Have you been away on a school trip?

Ja letztes Jahr bin ich mit der Schule nach Deutschland gefahren.  – Yes last year I went with my school to Germany.  Es war toll, weil es sehr spannend war. – It was great because it was very exciting.  Wir haben die Sehenswürdigkeiten gesehen. – We saw the sights.  Ich habe an einen Austausch teilgenommen. – I took part in an exchange.  Wir haben viele historische Gebäude besichtigt. – We visited lots of historical buildings.  Nächstes Jahr werde ich mit der Oberschule wegfahren. – Next year I will go away with the sixth form.  Ich würde lieber mit meiner Familie wegfahren, weil es besser ist. – I would prefer to go away with my family because it is better.

9.                  Wie findest du das Essen und Trinken im Ausland? – What do you think of food and drink abroad?

Im Großen und Ganzen esse ich gern das Essen im Ausland. – In general I like to eat food abroad.  Ich esse am liebsten zu Hause, weil es lecker ist und meine Mutter kann gut kochen. – I most of all like to eat at home because it is very tasty and my mum can cook very well.  Ich mag das Essen in Deutschland, weil es sehr gesund und interessant ist. – I like the food in Germany because it is very healthy and interesting.  Als ich in Deutschland war, habe ich Bratwurst gegessen und das hat sehr gut geschmeckt.  – When I was in Germany I ate sausage and that tasted very nice.  Ich esse auch sehr gern italienisches Essen, obwohl es sehr ungesund sein kann. – I also really like to eat Italien food although it can be very unhealthy.  Ich esse gar nicht gern Paella, weil ich Garnele hasse. – I don’t like to eat paella at all because I hate prawns.

10.             Beschreib mir dein Traumurlaub – Describe your dream holiday.

Es wäre in Spanien, weil das Wetter immer so schön ist. – It would be in Spain because the weather is always so beautiful.  Es gäbe viele schöne Strände und viele Leute. – There would be lots of beautiful beaches and lots of people.  Ich hätte viel Geld, um einkaufen zu gehen. – I would have lots of money in order to go shopping.

11.             Wo würdest du hinfahren, wenn du viel Geld gewonnen würde? – Where would you travel to if you were to win lots of money?

Ich würde nach Spanien fahren, um das schöne Wetter zu geniessen. – I would travel to Spain in order to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Ich würde eine Weltreisetour machen, um viele andere Länder zu besichtigen. – I would do a world travel tour in order to visit lots of other countries.  Ich würde eine Kreuzfahrt machen, wenn ich viel Geld hätte. – I would do a cruise if I had lots of money.

12.             Sind Sprachen wichtig, deiner Meinung nach? – Are languages important in your opinion?

Ja, meiner Meinung nach, sind die Sprachen sehr wichtig. – Yes in my opinion languages are very important.  Ich lerne Deutsch, um einen guten Beruf zu finden. – I am learning German in order to find a good job.  Ich denke, es ist sehr wichtig, eine andere Sprache zu lernen, weil man viel über andere Kulturen und Länder lernen kann. – I think it is very important to learn another language because one can learn lots about other cultures and countries.  Ich habe Deutsch in der Schule gelernt, weil es mir sehr wichtig ist. – I learned German at school because it is very important to me.  In der Zukunft möchte ich in Deutschland wohnen, um Deutsch besser zu lernen. – In the future I would like to live in Germany in order to learn German better.
